Serology involves the study of serum as well as body fluids.Serum is the clear liquid that usually separates after the blood clots.Serology is mainly used in the identification of antibodies or antibody like substances that appear in the serum /body fluids when microbial associated diseases occur in our body.From the presence of antibodies in the serum, we can conclude what is the type of disease is caused ;for example : measles, influenza,yellow fever and the microbes that cause the disease,thus being able to diagnose the disease effectively.
