Aspergillus flavus which grows on stored cereal grains, groundnuts and areca nuts sectres a carcinogenic toxins called as aflatoxin.Aspergillus flavus is an example of pathogenic and saprotrophic fungus. It produces significant quantities of toxins known as mycotoxins which are toxic to mammals as well. The four major groups of aflatoxins are produced by Aspergillus flavus which are G1, G2, B1 and B2. In these toxins B1 is the most toxic one.
