The plates you are using for this lab will be autoclaved to completely sterilize them. The measures taken to disinfect the tabletops (the source of organisms in plate 2and 3) are not as extreme. Why?

Answer #1

ANSWER: Plates should have higher organism growth than bench tops, because the bench tops have no media.Tabletop- less nutrients, less density Petri dishes- high nutrients, high density.

The agar plates were used to grow bacteria on them they have become a bio-hazard. The tabletop is easily disinfected with alcohol or many other sterilizing agent. Depending on which the agar plate is made of it may be reusable and if you dont want them to be contaminated for the next experiment they need to be autoclaved.

This is part of our lab where we put styrafoam plates on a Van de Graaf generator: STATION 2: Styrofoam plates. Observe the plates on the board. They were placed there after rubbing their back sides on the VdG generator. Notice that if it’s not too humid, that you can take them off and put them back again There is obviously no adhesive holding them there. Q5) How are they sticking? Assume that you are a technical engineer of a materials testing lab, and received a report on bi-axial test on a thin stainless steel plate as shown in the figure. The test results indicates that the strains measured in the plate are εy = 488 µε and εx = 654 µε. You recall that the Poisson's ratio is v=εlat/εlong. Assuming εx = εlong and εy = εlat , one would get v=0.75. Given this information, answer the following questions in...
