Which of the following is NOT a function of proteins within the cell
a.) Allowing the cell to respond to signals like insulin
b.) Keeping the information about how to make other proteins
c.) Bringing sodium into the cell
d.) Copying the DNA
e.) Making new amino acids from smaller components
f.) Supporting the structure of cells
*Note: Bringing sodium into the cell is not the correct answer, I already tried.
b) keeping the information to about how to make other proteins
I think by other proteins, it is meant that the proteins other than which are present in the cell at that time. Information for making proteins and other components of the cell is kept by DNA, in its base sequence. It is the AUGC sequence in the RNA which decides the anti-codon and thus which amino-acid will be brought during protein synthesis. We all know that, RNA is transcribed from DNA. The protein functions, but how to perform this function or the recipe is kept with the DNA. So, keeping the information is not actually the function of proteins..
