Using partial pressures, describe how gas exchange takes place at the alveoli.
(Full explanation please. No copy paste. Thank you.)
Partial pressure is a type of pressure which act on a single type of gas in a mixture of gases. It is very important for the prediction of gaseous movement. Gases can move from higher to lower partial pressure. If the difference in the partial pressure of two areas are more then the movements of the gases is more rapid. In case of the gaseous exchange in alveoli, when we inhale oxygen, it is diffused into the capillaries from the alveoli while CO2 from the blood exhale. Gradient is created by the different partial pressure of O2 causes to move oxygen from alveoli to the capillaries and then into the tissues.
