How have some organisms (animals) evolved to defend themselves from predation? Give examples.
First line of defence is to avoid being detected by the predator.
Other defence is very fast running, swiming, fliers etc can use their speed to escape.
Some morphological and behavioural adaptation make it difficult to predator to get the prey into their mouth.
1) camouflage: Animals change their skin colour to avoid detected by predators. e.g : stick bug
2) Chemical defence : animal can synthesize toxin using their own metabolism to defend from predator.
3) Mimicry e.g butterfly
4) Aposematism ( Antipredator adaptation)
5) living underground
6) Noctounal adaptation.
