Elater mechanism for spore dispersal is exhibited by

(a) Liverworts

(b) Marchantia

(c) Riccia

(d) Funaria.

Answer #1

Ans-(b) Marchantia

Explanation-

In Marchantia the elaters are hygroscopic in nature. They become twisted when the weather is dry. On the onset of wet weather they become untwisted and cause the jerking action. This causes the spore mass to get loosen and hence carried out by air currents.
