MHC polymorphism
In our immune system there are many cell surface molecules known as MHC (major histocompatibility complex) which is encoded by the group of genes. MHCs are three types I, II, and III. The MHCs are the polygenic and polymorphic. MHCs are the highly polymorphic. The MHCs are the plolymorphic means that there are more then one allele are present in individuals of one population. In a mixed population, the polymorphism is so high as not two individuals have same MHC gene except twins.
