Nasal septum cconsists of hyaline cartilage. It is a bluish green and translucent in appearance. It has fewer very fine white fibres in the matrix. This type of cartilage gives flexibilty and supports at the joints. Elastic, calcified and fibrous cartilages occur in other parts of the body. Hyaline cartilage larynx, trachea, bronchi and nose. Elastic cartilage occurs in external ear. Calcified cartilage occurs in suprascapula. Fibrous carticlage occurs in intervertebral discs.
