Answer #1

Hypothesis :- Male cricket are fight for their territories because only then they could be able to mate with female. The aggressive nature of crickets is only because of mating so when they have a territory they able to produce a song by rubbing their legs to attract the female. If the number of males increases the territorial fights also increases due to natural selection of mating hence they had to fight with each other only then they gain the access to female because won't be attracted to the male without territory.

Prediction :- The male field crickets fights for their territory only then could get access to mating with female. A male cricket without territory won't get chance to reach out the female for mating.
