Selective predation decreases the accuracy of overpopulation estimate of the prey. Decanter different types of selective productions like selective production based on size, based on the sex etc. In selective predation of a particular species the juveniles are mostly affected. This causes a a disturbance in the age population ratio . Size selective predation increases the per capita death of large animals ,herbivorous etc. This may also change the competition frequency. This can increase or decrease the population of the surrounding species.
