Answer #1

Over a course of time many laminated and lithified structures are occurs due to microbial activity of the microbes are known as a stromatolite. This is a type of organo-sedimentary structure built by trapping and precipitation of minerals and moderately abundant. The stromatolite morphology is quantitatively analyzed for the followings- supply quantitative explanation and classification of the stromatolite and to determine biogenicity. Morphological tests are the valid tests for the biogenicity. Compression and diffusion method (CD method) is a statistical method which is used for stromatolite analysis. The surface features of the stromatolite are converted into symbols on the basis of sequence. The results of the CD has no false correlations.

Lets say we have a rock sample that we want to know the age of. Luckily, there are radioactive isotopes and we can count them! Currently, there are 12 stable daughter isotopes and 4 unstable parent isotopes (16 total). The half-life of the unstable isotope is 10 years. How old is the rock?
