Why is the RNA genome of poliovirus by itself "infectious" when transfected into a host cell?

Poliovirus causes poliomyelitis ,it is mostly presant in the poor sanitary environment,
it is an enterovirus,the viral RNA replicate in the intestines to form caspid,they attack
CNS , it gets in to blood from intestine and it reaches specific targets in spinal cord ,the anterior horn of the spinal cord ,which includes cell bodies are the motor neurons of the body,they are connected to different muscles ,the symptoms that are seen due to damage to this motor neurons.
