Describe how negative feedback and protein synthesis (DNA to protein) play a role in blood sugar level maintenance (insulin is a protein). Explain how exocytosis is involved.
Insulin is a peptide hormone that is produced from Beta cells of pancreas. It controls blood glucose levels by converting exces glucose of blood into Glycogen. If blood possess normal glucose levels, then protein kinase A, a intra cellular signal transducer molecule, not promote Insulin production from DNA. This called negative feedback. Whenever Glucose levels exceeds in the blood from normal levels, then protein kinase A promote Insulin production by promoting DNA.
Exocytosis is the molecules release out of the cell from cell, that are synthecised. It involves the modifications and packing of molecules at Endoplasmic Reticulum and Golgi respectively . Insulin after synthesis at Beta cells, Exocytosis into blood take place, where it perform it's function
