Stuart J.Firestein is the chair of department of biological science at Columbia University.He had researched the vertebrate olfactory receptor neuron.He had published many articles.He has been elected as a fellow by the American Association of the advancement of Science (AAAS) for his meritorious efforts to advance science.Firesteins first interest in science.He wanted to become an astronomer.

Stuart Firestein teaches students and citizen scientists that ignorance is far more important to discovery than knowledge.

Firestein proposes that science is really about ignorance - about seeking answers rather than collecting them.He used the word 'ignorance' to be at least, in part, intentionally provocative, because ignorance has a lot of bad connotations .
