Eusociality refers to the social structure of mammals that consider a need to fulfill the following three things:.

  • Reproduction through division of labor
  • co-operative care of the young ones
  • generational overlap

The division of labor is limited between reproductives and non-reproductives. A colony of 80-100 naked mole rats are found in general and only one reproductive female is found per colony and in contrast upto three reproductive males are present that also share paternity over the breeding female. The non-reproductive division of mole rats consists of worker rats that take care of food,shelter and cooperative care of younger ones.
