Clonorchis sinensis is a liver fluke whose eggs are often found in freshwater. The eggs are ingested by the snail where they get converted in larvae. These larvae are released by the infected snail in water and eaten by fish, crabs, crayfish. People got this infection when they eat undercooked fishes or crabs which contains the larvae of Clonorchis sinensis.

Patient stool sample is used for the diagnosis of the Clonorchis sinensis and is the only way available to diagnose its infection.
