Draw and/or describe how the variation in the physical characteristics of the basilar membrane produce an organic Fourier transform function.

Homework Answers

Answer #1

Basilar membrane in ear is an structural elements that separates two liquid filled tube that run along the coil of cochlea the scala media and scala tympani.

The displacement of the basilar membrane in response to frequency is quite specific. Each location along the basilar membrane responds to a characteristic frequency.

The faurier transform cause the variation in the physical characteristics of basilar membrane such as the chenges in the ear canal width and the stiffness of ear membrane.

It also affect the duct dimensions.

It also affect the traveling waves which is the motion oof basilar membrane.

It will affect the frequency also..so these are the parameters..

Thank u hope u understand..
