Answer #1

Lac operon is an inducible operon that can be negatively regulated by Lac repressor or positively regulated by cAMP system.

Lac I,the Lac repressor protein binds to the operator through two of it's subunit and prevent RNA polymerase from binding to the promoter region and hence prevent Transcription. Lac repressor is a homotetramer consisting of two dimer subunits that bind to DNA.The DNA binding site is present at the N terminal and a tetramerization region is present at the C terminal. The DNA binding domain has helix turn helix motif.

Proteins are long-chains of amino acids linked together. In solution, these chains tend to fold in certain ways to give the protein a structure. This folding depends on the intermolecular forces (IMFs) between water (or other molecules) and the various amino acid side-chains, as well as the IMFs between different side chains. 1.The amino acid asparagine has a melting point of 241oC whereas that of isoleucine is 295oC. Explain this difference on the basis of IMFs. HINT: it may not...
