TSH is thyroid stimulating hormone and it tells the thyroid to make thyroxine. Thyroxine in turn increases metabolism. What will happen to TSH levels once sufficient thyroxine has been made (will it continue to be made or stop)?
The level of thyroxine is maintaind by negative feedback look. Hypothalamus released the thyrotropin releasing hormone which activate pituitary gand to secrete TSH. It will relsease thyroxine, triiodothyroxine and thyroid hormone. After the sufficient amount of hormone will be produced, the negative feedback loop gives signal to hypothalamus. Hypothalamus now stops secreating thyrotropin releasing hormone which ultimately stops the production of thyroid stimulating hormone.
