Anthrax toxin reaches its target in an eukaryotic cell through
the following steps:
1) Toxin activation-(proteolytic cleavage to gain full biological
activity)
2) Receptor binding (After activation bind to its receptor)
3) receptor-mediated endocytosis (actively transporting Anthrax
toxin into the cell by engulfing it with its membrane)
4) Vesicle transport (transport across the vesicle membrane)
5) Translocation of active toxin from vesicular compartments in to
cytosol (target).
