Explain how our genes control our traits with a specific example. Your explanation should contain the following words: transcription, translation, gene, mRNA, and protein. To demonstrate that you have understood how transcription and translation works, make up a DNA sequence of 12 letters. Transcribe this sequence to the corresponding mRNA sequence, and then translate it to an amino acid chain

The gene transcribe mRNA for polypeptide synthesis via translation. The polypeptide may become component of structural protein enzyme hormone or antibody . Like the protein formed have different function like melanin protein provide color to skin and hair.

The gene carry code in form of nucleotide base which are read during tranlation where codon i.e triplet of bases are read and a particular amino acid is coded thus forming chain of polypeptide from gene .
