Let us describe the morphological characteristics demonstrated
by bacteria growing on culture media:
- The configurations of colonies which are formed by bacteria on
agar plates have configurations ranging from round, wrinkled,
concentric, irregular, filamentous, filiform, rhizoid etc.
- The margins of the colonies range from smooth, wavy, lobate,
thread-like, ciliate etc.
- The elevations of the colonies can be distinguished on whether
it is flat, raised, convex, drop like, ingrowing into medium
etc.
