why a non-enveloped virus is more virulent that an enveloped virus.
The non enveloped viruses are made up of caspid proteins and nucleic acid (DNA/RNA) whereas, the enveloped viruses are made of an envelope and a nucleocaspid. The enveloped viruses can be easily destroyed by lipid-affecting agents. The envelope is essential for its proper functioning. Without its envelope, it cannot enter the host cell. Whereas, naked viruses or non enveloped viruses can easily enter the host cell as it is difficult to destroy their caspid protein. Hence the non-enveloped viruses are more dangerous than the enveloped viruses and are more virulent.
