We target gluconeogenesis when there is an requirement of the production of glucose from non carbohydrates sources,like like amino acid ,lactate etc.It is anabolic process .Occurs in cytoplasm and mitochondria.It is an endergonic reaction . After utilisation of carbohydrates body may uses these non carbohydrates raw material to to change into carbohydrates for fulfilment of energy in the body.

Glycosides is a exergonic, catabolic process of energy generation .It occurs in cytoplasm.Glucose is converted into Pyruvic acid.
