Suppose six essential amino acids are required to synthesize protein A, but only five are provided in adequate amounts in recently eaten meal. Explain what will happen to the supply of protein A in the body and the essential amino acids ingested with the meal. Suppose all six essential amino acids required to synthesize a protein are ingested the next day. Explain what will happen to the supply of protein A in the body and the essential amino acids ingested with the meal.
Supply of protein A in the body will be decreased because essential amino acid are required in the food, body cannot synthesize essential amino acids and thus lake of even a single essential amino acid which is required in synthesis of a particular protein will lead to reduced supply of that particular protein. Since here due to lack of 1 particular essential amino acid the protein A synthesis will not occur and thus all 5 essential aminoacid will be utilized for synthesis of other proteins (Many proteins are synthesiszed for body function).
When all six essential amino acids will be present in food (next day), the supply of protein A will be increased. All 6 amino acids will be utilized for synthesis of protein A and for other protein also.
Essential amino acids are also utilized as precursor molecules for the synthesis of nonessential amino acids.
