Your son has not had the MMR vaccine (measles, mumps, rubella) because you are apprehensive about vaccines and their side effects. Your sister says that you are setting him up for a potentially damaging scenario. Which argument has the great scientific validity and why?
My sister’s argument has great scientific validity. Because most people who get MMR vaccine do not have any serious problem with it. As per CDC getting MMR vaccine is much safer than getting measles, mumps or rubella.
Measles can cause fever, rash, diarrhoea, cough, pneumonia, brain damage and death.
Mumps can cause fever, headache, muscle ache, swelling and infection of testicles leading to sterility and damage to the central nervous system.
Rubella can cause fever, rash, headache and if happened to pregnant women, she could have miscarriage or baby with congenital defects.
So, getting the MMR vaccine is more safe and preventive measure for the viral infections of Measles, Mumps and Rubella.
