Hydrophobic and hydrophilic molecules are carried by a liposome. Liposome carries hydrophobic molecules in their hydrophobic tails and hydrophilic molecules in their hydrophilic core. It is used as a medium for administration of nutrients and pharmaceutical drugs. It has an aqueous solution core, which is surrounded by a hydrophobic membrane in the form of a lipid bilayer and hydrophilic solutes are dissolved in the core cannot pass through the bilayer. Hydrophobic chemicals combine with the bilayer.
