plants can not absorbs the whole sunlight. It is lost due to variuos reasons like-

now, as chrolophyll can absorb only the light in the range of photons between 400 and 700 nm. So light which is outside in the range of 400 and 700 nm are lost.

some of the absorbed photons get degraded.

some are lost due to incompete absorbance.

some are lost due to respiration

some is lost during conversion of glucose

at the end plant can use only 3-6 % of sunlight which is incoming.
