Ans. Virus membrane is also known as the viral capsids. It packs all the genetic material in it. Enveloped viruses are surrounded by an outer lipid membrane. The envelope contains the viral proteins, which are responsible for binding in host cells. This function is carried out by the outer capsid proteins in the non-enveloped viruses. The capsids and envelopes determine the method of viral entry into and exit from host cells. The non-enveloped viruses are more stable and can survive much longer in the environment.
