There are seven different types of connective tissue -
1. Cartilage - proteoglycan and elastin fibres are the matrices
2. Bone - collagen fibres and ground substances and inorganic bone salts are the matrices
3. Blood - liquid bills plasma is the matrices
4. Adipose - tight pack of cells with a small amount of gelatinous ground substance is the matrices
5. Hematopoietic - Blood plasma is the matrices
6. Fibrous - consist of parallely or irregularly arranged bundles fibres with few cells and less of ground substance
7. Elastic - limited ground substance which are placed in a flexible but firm matrix.
