Antimicrobial agents: A general term for the drugs, chemicals or other substances that either kill or slow the growth of microbes.

Antimicrobial resistance: Antimicrobial resistance is the result of microbes changing in ways that reduce or eliminate the effectiveness of drugs, chemicals or other agents to cure or prevent infections.

Now chemical antimicrobial treatment is used to stop the growth of the microbes to stop the infection. Because these elements were not suitable for the microbes. The microbes can not take their food from the elements and finally the died. There are various types of helping agents present with whom we can use them. Like carpet, paint, textiles, tile, solid surface etc.
