In certain flowers, P= purple and p = white. Purple is completely dominant to white, but is only 30% penetrant. What phenotypic ratios do you expect in the F2 if your parental cross is PP x pp (out of 100 offspring)?

Now F1 generation will have the genotype of Pp which will have 30% purple color flower will 70% will have white color flower ( as the penetrance is 30%)

In F2 generation genotype will be 25 PP 50 Pp and 25pp (out of 100 offspring)

as the penetrance is 30%

so there will be the phenotypic difference in heterozygous population of F2 generation

out of 50 Pp genotypic progeny (50 x30%), 15 will give purple color flower and rest (50-15) 35 will give white color flower

therefore, in F2 generation phenotypic ratio will be (purple: white) =(25+15): (25+35) = 2:3
