In corn, the trait for yellow seedlings (g) is recessive to green seedlings (G), and waxy endosperm (w) is recessive to starchy endosperm (W). The two genes assort independently. A cross between a homozygous green, waxy plant and a homozygous yellow starchy plant produced F1 progeny that were all phenotypically green, starchy.

a) If F1 individuals are interbred (self-pollinated), what phenotypes and in what proportions (ratios) would you expect in the F2 generation progeny

b) List the expected F2 genotypes and ratios, and their corresponding phenotypes.

c) If F1 plants are crossed to the green, waxy parent, what genotypes, phenotypes, and their corresponding ratios would you expect?

In peas yellow is dominant and green is recessive. You have crossed green peas to yellow peas and obtained all yellow peas. Indicate the genotype of each parent and the genotype of the F1 progeny. You self-cross the F1 and get 115 individuals 32 green. Give the expected outcome for this cross and perform Chi Squared analysis to determine if this is likely a Mendelian trait (be sure to give expected and observed, show your calculations, and indicate your degrees...

In maize, a dominant allele A is necessary for seed color as opposed to colorless a. Another gene has a recessive allele wx that results in waxy starch, as opposed to normal starch Wx. The two genes segregate independently. A true breed colorless, normal starch plant was crossed with a true breed colored, waxy plant. The offspring of that cross were selfed to produce an F2 generation. a. Give the genotypes and phenotypes (and ratios) of the P, F1, and...

In corn, there are three recessive genes (a, b, and r) that are linked on chromosome 3. A homozygous recessive plant is crossed with a wild-type plant. The F1 is crossed to get an F2 generation with 1370 individuals that had the following genotypes: a b r : 44 aBr: 460 A b r : 14 abR: 164 AbR: 474 aBR: 16 ABr: 158 ABR: 4 It is possible to develop a gene map, showing the order of the loci...

Please answer all the questions, they're related The autosomal recessive allele bw, for brown eyes in Drosophila interacts with the X-linked recessive allele, v, for vermilion eyes, since flies that are recessive for both genes have white eyes. Wild type flies have red eyes. What eye color phenotypes, in what proportions, would be expected in the progeny from a cross of a white-eyed female and a brown eyed male?  Choose the best answer. Select one: a. all females with brown eyes,...

Let's suppose that there is a locus (denoted by P) that controls fruit coloration in a species of grapes. For a really long time, farmers have known that there is a recessive mutation in the P locus, such that PP and Ppplants have purple grapes, whereas homozygous recessive pp plants have yellow grapes. More recently, plants with yellow grapes started showing up in a northern CA farm. So you first decide to determine if the old and newer mutations causing...

A single-gene fruit color train in eggplant displays incomplete dominance. The purple and which fruit colors are true breeding phenotypes associated with being homozygous at the gene. Violet color results from heterozygosity at the gene. Which of the following ratios would you predict if you crossed a violet-fruit eggplant to purple-fruit plant and looked at their progeny? 3:1 purple:white 1:2:1 purple:violet:white 3:1 violet:white All violet 1:1 purple violet Which of the following statements about replication origins is incorrect? Replication proceeds...

"The orange locus in cats is located on the X chromosome. In females, XoXo results in orange cats and X+X+ results in black cats When a female is heterozygous XoX+, they express both colors in patches due to a phenomenon called X-inactivation in which one X in every cell is inactivated. These females are called calico or tortoiseshell, depending on the presence of white spots. Male cats are either orange (XoY) or black (X+Y). A cross between a black female...
