How are the number of stomata related to the rate of transpiration?

How does wavelength of light influence the rate of transpiration? Compare the control group to the groups using red and green filters.

How do some of the environmental influences (heat, wind, and darkness) effect the rate of transpiration?

Homework Answers

Answer #1

Ans 1 :

Stomata are the small pores that are present in the aerial parts of the plants (leaves) that allow them to exchange gases with the atmosphere.

Transpiration is the process of evaporation of water from the plant.

Now since the stomata act as the entry and exit of the materials from the leaves of the plant , so the rate of transpiration is directly related to the number of stomatas present in the leaf.

More the sstomata , more is the transpiration , less the stomata , less will be transpiration.

2) How does the neurotransmitter serotonin influences aggression? A researcher conducts a study examining how the brain chemical serotonin is related to aggression. Two samples were collected; one sample serves as the control group which will not receive any treatment drug, the second sample receives a drug that affects serotonin and thus influences aggression. The researcher finally tests the animals by recording the number of aggressive responses. The following results were reported: Treatment group (serotonin affected):              Control group: Rat...

1a) A researcher conducts an independent-measures study to examine how the brain chemical serotonin is related to aggression. One sample of rats serves as a control group and receives a placebo that does not affect normal levels of serotonin. A second sample of rats, low serotonin group, receives a drug that lowers brain levels of serotonin. Then, the researcher tests the animals by recording the number of aggressive responses each of the rats display. See the data below. Is there...
