When examining the age structure/distribution of a population, how might you infer the potential for growth of that population?

As we examine the age structure of a population we examine the no of individual of different ages present in the population and we form a population pyramid for that population. Now we can examine the pyramid if the no of child's are more in a population this population is always has a high growth rate. If the no of child's are less than young ones and old one than the population is in decreasing growth rate. If the no of young ones are same in number as child's than the population is stable.
