substrate-level control - If there is high level of product of a reaction inhibit the substrate present to react and form that product. An example is the first step in glycolysis catalyzed by hexokinase. It is inhibited by the product of its action, glucose-6-phosphate.

Feedback control
The product formed from series of reaction which inhibits the substrate of the reaction. An examplepyruvate inhibits the hexokinase.

covalent modification occur in phosphorylation plays a important role in metaboilc reaction. Example is protein kinases transfer a phosphate group from ATP to specific sites on proteins.This causes a conformational change and changes the properties of the protein.
