Hi,
IFNg may serve as an EBOV antiviral therapy. The authors present
several line of evidence in support of their claim. They have shown
that the IFNg blocs the EBOV infection of primary macrophages. The
IFNg also decreased the infection of EBOV in dose dependent manner
in mice. The IFNg changes the RNA expression profile. The authrs
have also identified the human macrophage gene to identify the IFNg
stimutated gene and found that these genes inhibit the EBOV
infections. The direct injection of mice with IFNg into the mice
helped them to surive the challenge of EBOV.
