Exercise 5.13 In H.G. Wells’ 1898 novel  The War of the Worlds, invaders from Mars are overcome by disease. Assuming that life on Mars developed independently of life on Earth, why is it unlikely that the Martians died of viral infections?

Explanation:- In H.G. Wells’ 1898 novel  The War of the Worlds, invaders from Mars were overcome by disease even though Martian's are technologically highly advanced then humans . But they were defeated by biology through germs which caused fatal disease in Martian as they used to do with human from thousands of years in our ancestors. Since Martian are not exposed to such microorganisms in mars hence their body could not resist these novel organism. Viral infection is unlikely because viral infection least severe as compared to deadly microorganisms available on earth that could toll of martians.
