Bottlenecking does what to the variability in a population
Bottlenecking is the phenomenon of reduction of population size. This reduction of population size may be due to fire, flood, earthquake, drought etc. Bottlenecking reduces the variabilty in a population.
These small number of individuals in a population have very less genetic variabilty. If this population faces the adverse condition, they will not be able to face the conditions due to very small genetic variations. Same problem is not with the large population. More genetic variations in this population somehow manages the adverse condition.
