Amino acids are the monomeric unIts of poly peptide chains and are adjoinned with each other by peptide bonds. Aminoacid helix are stabilized by phi and psi bonds to give beta oleated structure. Functions of aminoacids -

Aminoacids are have one amino group and one carboxylic group and so these can behave as base and acid both. Aminoacids are of two types essential and nonessential amino acids. Non essential amino acids are synthesi,es within the body and Non essential amino acids are required to taken orally or external supplement. Aminoacid give rise to proteins which perform following functions -

1.Structural proteins provide structure like nails hairs.

2. Enzymes which are Protein and are biocatalyst.
