1)You are given a protein solution with a concentration of 0.15 mg/ml. We need 10 µg for an experiment. What volume of the protein solution do we need? My answer: Convert 0.15 mg/ml to μg/ μl and you will get 150 μg/ μl. C = M/V rearrange for Volume V= M/C , V= (10 μg)/(150 μg/ μl) = 0.06667 μg/ μl 2) Suppose we want to prepare a solution containing 100 µg of the protein at a concentration of 1...

1)Consider a cell with a diploid chromosome number 2n=10, and two telocentric pairs, two metacentric pairs, and one acrocentric pair of chromosomes. Draw the cell in anaphase I of meiosis. Indicate one pair of sister chromatids by arrows. Indicate one pair of homologous chromosomes by stars. Don’t forget to draw the centromeres and the spindle. (Hand drawing is OK for this question) 2) Describe how new combinations of alleles can be formed through the process of meiosis. 3) In corn,...

Attention deficit disorder (ADD) is a syndrome in which a person has difficulty focusing sustained attention on a task for a significant amount of time. In some cases this is accompanied by hyperactivity as well. It is currently being diagnosed at an all-time high. Between 1989 and 1996, youth visits for ADD increased 90%, from 1.9% of total physician visits to 3.6%. Now, a psychiatrist named Dr. Edward Hallowell is making a new distinction. He has described a similar set...
