Answere :

Helicobacter pylori can survive the acidic conditions of the human stomach and have been found to cause the development of stomach ulcers.

During infection, H.pylori attaches to epithelial cells and can either cause no response or initially (or sometimes after a while) cause an abnormal immune response that damages gastric mucosal barrier. When the gastric mucosal barrier is broken, HCl and pepsin begin to erode the mucosa. Acid stimulates the release of histamine from cells in the submucosa which then causes further acid release and so on. Acid also causes activation of pepsin from pepsinogen that damages mucosa. This lead to stomach ulceration.

H. pylori is also associated with gastritis, peptic ulcers(stomach ulcers), gastric adenocarcinomas and gastric MALT lymphomas.

Helicobacter pylori is the bacteria that causes stomach ulcers. When scientists first proposed that Helicobacter pylori might be associated with stomach ulcers, other scientists were very skeptical of their conclusions. One of the researchers eventually consumed a sample and documented the effects, dramatically showing that the bacterium could cause gastrointestinal symptoms. 3a. Name and describe the temperature and pH “-phile” designation for H. pylori. Explain your answers. 3b. In order to cause ulcers H. pylori needs to overcome the environment...

Lance had been experiencing burning pains in his stomach. The pain would be worse if he didn’t eat for awhile and it seemed to be worse at night. The pain is temporarily relieved when he takes antacids but it would come back. He went to the doctor and the doctor ordered a series of tests including an upper GI x-ray, an endoscopy and a blood test. With these tests, the doctor noted multiple lesions on the inner lining of his...

Most reactions that can be done under acidic conditions can also be done under basic conditions – for example, conversion of a ketone into a ketal. That said, the reason Fischer esterifications require acid catalysis is that protonating the acid makes the electrophile (the carbonyl carbon) a better electrophile. We could presumably make the nucleophile (an alcohol) a better nucleophile, which is usually done through deprotonation. Explain why reacting an alkoxide with a carboxylic acid will not result in a...

remains of ancient human bones have been found. The carbon 14 present on these bones represented only 2.6% of the carbon 14 present in nature. The missing 97.4% had disintegrated. Estimate the age of these anthropological remains by considering that the half-life of carbon-14 is 5730 years.

The stomach flu has been going around, and you have been infected. Your digestive tract is a mess. You are vomiting and have diarrhea. Using the mass balance equation, explain how these conditions would lead to dehydration. Using the concept of osmolarity and tonicity, explain how these conditions would affect water balance between your ICF and ECF. Explain how and why the dehydration would affect blood volume and blood pressure. Describe the hormonal regulatory mechanisms that would be implemented by...

Two parasites are found in a population of primates. Parasite 1 is an ectoparasite that can survive for up to 2 weeks off of the host. Parasite 2 is an endoparasite that can survive for 1 day outside of the host, but only in ideal conditions. How would the patterns and mode of spread differ between the two parasite species? What kinds of social behaviors (of the host) would make these parasites more or less successful?
