Answer #1

Answer : A1c hemoglobin test

Hemoglobin is a protein found in RBC and helps in transportation of oxygen. The A1c hemoglobin test or A1c test determines the number or percentage of hemoglobin in our blood which carries oxygen and also the percentage of hemoglobin in our blood which are glycated. Glycated hemoglobin are those hemoglobin which are associated with Glucose instead of Oxygen (in normal condition the hemoglobin are associated with hemoglobin). This test determines average blood sugar level of an individual over a long period of 2 to 3 months. If the A1c level is found in an individual, than he/she has a high risk for diabetes and vice - versa.

When red blood cell (RBC) hemoglobin is exposed to high blood glucose levels, it becomes glycated. The hemoglobin A1c test measures the percentage of glycated red blood cells in whole blood as an indicator of blood glucose levels over the 90-day lifespan of an RBC. Hemoglobin A1c levels between 4% and 5.9% are considered normal. A1c levels are well correlated with average blood glucose levels. An A1c level of 6% (minimal for a diagnosis of diabetes) is equivalent to an...
