The papillary is a important layer of the dermis region of the skin and it is closely associated with dermis on uppermost layer.the papillary layer is made from the connective tissue which is loose in form.

Collagen fibres is also responsible to making the papillary layer and collagen make it to mesh. the dermis superficial layer project into specialised structure called stratum basale which are associated with epidermis layer.

The papillary layer is play a major role in skin function and it help to nutrient supplements to other layer of skin.it also act as a temperature regulator to maintain homeostasis.
