For ethylene, cytokinin, ABA, GA, and auxin
1) Explain how the hormone-receptor interaction regulates gene transcription
2) Compare the 5 hormone systems - how are they similar?
Hormones are protein molecules that are secreted from one place and expressed / work in other part of body. Hence on the surface of cells, specific receptor molecules are present for specific hormones to work. This hormone- receptor complex also works as a transcriptional activator which modulates proteins of DNA binding domain. Hormone receptor complex is activates transcription by interacting with DNA. When ligand for binding receptor, is present it undergo conformational changes and recruits various co-activator of DNA transcription. This co activator makes conformational changes in chromatids and regulates gene expression.
Ethylene, cytokinin, ABA (ascorbic acid), Gibberllic acid and auxin all are hormone system of plant. which helps in growth and development of different part of plant.
