The results of experimental archaeology tool-making studies present an interesting opportunity for us to consider the role of communication in human evolution. Based on your cumulative knowledge of hominin behavior (Intra and Inter-continent migration; tool making; hunting and foraging; group cooperation and care; personal adornment etc.) what inference can you make about how and when our ancestors began to formulate and use verbal communication strategies? Please use your opinion to answer this question.
Communication between humans started anywhere between 2.5million and 50000 years ago. There are a number of theories about this but there is no established facts.
Hand signs, gestures and facial expressions where the first forms of communicaton. Some theories suggest that verbal communication started 1 million years ago ,though there is no proof for that. But we can say that the first form of verbal communication was done by making some noises like howling or some random vocal noises. So in my opinion these noises where transformed into what we call as scripts and spoken words, through which we have been communication since thousands of years.
