Mitochondria is an organelle which is found only kn eukaryotes. Mitochondria has ds circular DNA. The mitochondrial genome is responsible for maternal inheritance. It comes under the extranuclear inheritance. Because genes are present outside the nucleus. The mother always pass the mitochondria to the egg. And the father do not pass any mitochondria to the offspring. That's why the mother will alwas shows its mitochondrial trait to the offspring. It will pass to the all offsprings.
