1) FALSE. Only the acrosomal reaction helps in the passing of the sperm through various layers. Cortical granule reaction occurs when a sperm attaches to zona pellucida. Then some factors are released which prevent polyspermy. Therefore, only acrosomal reaction helps in passage, not cortical granular reaction.

2) FALSE. Sperm activating Peptides are seen in the sea urchin. These bind to the calcium channels and cause influx of calcium which provides motility to the sperm but it doesn't air in fusion.
