Why must a cell make all of the mRNA/protein that it will need for mitosis or meiosis prior to starting mitosis or meiosis?

Homework Answers

Answer #1

The mitosis or meiosis causes the cells to divide ,grow and copy the genetic materials. The cells make all the mRNA/proteins in the interphase to make sure the final preparations for the entry into the cell division cycle because these mRNA/protein is involved in the regulating each phases of the cell cycle, they have their specific role in progression of mitosis or meiosis. Thus, cell makes all of the mRNA/protein that it will need for mitosis or meiosis prior to starting mitosis or meiosis.

Why tetrads do not form during mitosis? This might be more of a conceptual question than just a simple answer of " because meiosis only happens in sex chromosomes and tetrads only form during meiosis " or " because the synaptonemal protein complex attaches the tetrads during meiosis" Another way of asking my question would be " how can we explain in detail what causes a cell to undergo meiosis vs mitosis OTHER THAN HAPPENING IN AUTOSOMAL VS SEX CHROMOSOMES?...

Answer the following questions comparing Mitosis and Meiosis. A mosquito cell has 6 chromosomes total (2N = 6). Draw a cell in metaphase for both mitosis and meiosis I.
